Hey, I’m Matthew, the founder of CallSignHendo, and I’m a proud Army veteran who turned a love for design into a business. Before I started building websites, I served as a Field Artillery Specialist—working as a radar operator and assisting with mortar tube operations.
During my service, I sustained multiple traumatic brain injuries. That experience changed my path, forcing me to slow down and reevaluate what mattered most. It wasn’t an easy shift, but it helped me discover new purpose—and eventually, a passion for creative design.
After leaving the military, I worked across a range of industries. I held leadership roles in retail with companies like Blockbuster and Dollar Tree, moved into operations at Home Depot, banking with Wells Fargo, and later into healthcare with fast-paced startups like Rally Health and UnitedHealth Group. Each role challenged me to adapt, communicate clearly, and solve problems—skills I carry into every design project today.
What started as a hobby—helping friends and family with websites—evolved into CallSignHendo, a mission-driven business built on discipline, precision, and strategy. I now help businesses craft their digital presence through websites, logos, and marketing materials that are clear, functional, and impactful.
When I’m not designing, I’m spending time with my three dogs—Max, Dani, and Hector—or diving into a good sci-fi series like Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, or Stargate. I love camping and traveling across the U.S., exploring new places I haven’t seen before. I also have a big crew of awesome nieces and nephews who keep life fun, loud, and full of laughs—and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
